Congratulations to Dennis Clarke on being the first one in with the correct answer. Ilya Samsonov was the Bears starting goaltender for this game with Vitek Vanacek serving as backup. This great pair were soon to get the call up to mind the nets for the Caps.

Congratulations to Beth Dunn on being the first one in with the correct answer. Scott Stevens, a long-time Capital and Devil defenseman, was honored as the NHL’s all-time leader among d-men in games played. No one knew that night that their captain had played his last game just ten days prior.

Congratulations Greg Christian on being the first one in with the correct answer. It came as a surprise to everyone, including himself, that Joe Reekie (pictured) scored the first goal in this game.
