"RoadCrew Fiesta" Part IV

Washington Capitals at New Jersey Devils
March 29, 2002 | Continental Airlines Arena | East Rutherford, New Jersey

After an off day in which the Crew saw the Philadelphia Flyers stomp the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden, we got to see a dominant performance by our boys in white as they took on the Devils in their home. An opening tally by Patrick Elias was met by three unanswered Caps goals, sealing the 3-1 victory and ending our Fiesta series of trips.

Current plans- The Crew will be meeting at a yet to be determined location at 6:30 am on the 26th and the bus will leave no later than 6:45 am. If majority opinion permits, we may stay in NY after the game to catch dinner at either the All-Star Cafe or the ESPNzone before returning to the D.C. area (arrival time would be around midnight). Otherwise the Crew bus will return to the D.C. area immediately following the game (expected arrival in D.C. would be 9 pm). While the exact cost of the trip has yet to be determined, the estimated cost for the trip should be around $125 per person ($45 bus expense and $80 for the game ticket). No extra fees or money over the cost of the bus and game tickets will be charged. You may bring your own food and drink on the bus (coolers will be provided for your convenience). There is no smoking allowed on the bus and time constraints will most likely prevent us from making any stops on the way down. The bus is equipped with a restroom and video/TV units.

Due to the constraints faced in getting group tickets, trip reservations must be placed by Friday, August 31, 2001 at noon.

Bus Trip to the Steel City!

Washington Capitals at Pittsburgh Penguins
December 21, 2001 | Mellon Arena | Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Jagr’s first visit to his former home was widely anticipated! The 1st period was a stalemate, then Peter Bondra scored first for the good guys in the 2nd. The flightless fowl responded harshly with three goals in less than seven minutes, followed by another just a minute into the 3rd period. Another pair of Caps goals from Bonzai and Sergei Gonchar weren’t enough, and the Caps left Steel City down 4-3.

There are no photos from this trip.
