One more look at the Bears on St. Patty's weekend

Bridgeport Sound Tigers at Hershey Bears
March 16, 2019 | Giant Center | Hershey, Pennsylvania
Bus Trip

No one does holidays quite like the AHL. From special event nights to themed custom jerseys, the NHL’s farm league makes every occasion noteworthy, and the Bears are no exception! In addition to St. Patrick’s Day, this night was also Autism Awareness Night. Hosting the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the NY Islanders’ affiliate, the Hershey squad came through to keep the Crew’s unbeaten streak at Giant Center intact! The final score of 5-1 brought a joyous end to our trip season.

Trip Itinerary

We will be hitting the road by bus to the Giant Center to cheer on the Hershey Bears as they take on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

The CRC has made arrangements for bus transportation and lower level group tickets. (A very limited number of tickets aside from those with bus transportation are available at this time.)

We’ll have a pickup in northern Virginia at Springfield Metro station at 12:30 p.m. and one in Maryland at the Shady Grove Metro station (off I-270 & ICC) at approximately 1:00 p.m. We should arrive in Hershey by 3:30 pm for lunch at the Bear’s Den in the Hershey Lodge before heading over to the arena at 6 p.m. to catch warmups before the 7 p.m. drop of the puck. The CRC bus will be returning to the D.C. area as soon as possible following the game (expected arrival back at Shady Grove around midnight and Springfield Metro around 12:30 a.m.). Paid parking is available at both Metro stations and while the Metro will be open at the time for our departure, constantly changing WMATA schedules make their operation when we return questionable so plan accordingly. We are happy to assist with carpooling for those who need it.

All of our available spaces that include bus transportation will be $65 per person. No extra fees or money over the cost of the bus and game tickets will be charged. You may bring your own food and drink on the bus (coolers will be provided for your convenience). There is no smoking allowed on the bus and time constraints will most likely prevent us from making any stops on the way. The bus is equipped with a restroom and video/tv units.

Please get your reservation in ASAP to guarantee your spot on the CRC bus! A reservation should be considered a firm commitment as it will be used to finalize others’ reservations. We will have space and tickets available for 55 people.

Our final NHL trip of the season took us up I-95 to the City of Brotherly Shove for a rare mid-week CRC game. The Flyers hosted the Caps with all due hospitality, allowing five goals in a row through two periods before staging an unsuccessful comeback. The Crew close out their NY trip with another two points

Washington Capitals at New York Rangers
March 3, 2019 | Madison Square Garden | New York, New York

The Crew closed out their NYC weekend excursion with a visit to the “World’s Most Famous Arena”, Madison Square Garden, where the Caps took on their longtime rivals, the Rangers. The visitors in white took an early lead but the hometown blue shirts fought back, forcing the game to a shootout. It was an evenly-matched spectacle until Rangers goalie Alexander Georgiev tossed his stick at Caps captain Alex Ovechkin, forcing the War Room in Toronto to interrupt the proceedings and award an automatic goal, winning the game for the road team.

Trip Itinerary

The Caps Road Crew will be traveling to NYC for an early afternoon meeting with the Rangers at 12:30 PM on Sunday, March 3, 2019! A visit to MSG is a treat for any hockey fan and we’re delighted to make these available once again.

The CRC has made arrangements for excellent lower bowl group tickets in our favorite section, 102, for $190 each however individual transportation and lodging plans are up to those attending. No extra fees over the cost of the ticket will be charged.

At this time we are accepting reservations as a ticket package to both the NYI and NYR games (see details for the NYI end of the trip). If we are able to accomodate those wishing tickets to just one or the other we will try, but cannot guarantee anything at present. The cost will be $190 per ticket for the NYR game (the NYI tickets are $90 each, for a total of $280 for a package).

The Motor City team dies at the side of the Road

Washington Capitals at Detroit Red Wings
January 6, 2019 | Little Caesars Arena | Detroit, Michigan

Our first trip of the new year brought the Crew to Hockeytown for a Sunday evening game against the Red Wings. Roadies enjoyed a spirited pregame gathering at Harry’s, a bar only a block from Little Caesars Arena. The struggling Caps took an early lead but soon fell behind. No matter, as they snapped their three-game losing skid with a go-ahead goal in the waning minutes of the third period to beat the home team 3-2.

Trip Itinerary

The Caps Road Crew is heading back to Little Caesars Arena again this season to see the Caps take on the Red Wings for a late afternoon game on Sunday, January 6 at 5:00 PM EST. So many fans wanted to visit the new rink last season that we just had to go back.

No extra fees over the cost of the ticket will be charged. The Jackets provide no warmth to their home crowd

Washington Capitals at Columbus Blue Jackets
December 8, 2018 | Nationwide Arena | Columbus, Ohio

We kicked off our championship season by visiting the home of the Columbus Blue Jackets, the first team the Caps eliminated from the Playoffs on their way to the promised land. We began our day as guests of Nationwide Arena for the Caps’ game-day skate, followed by Happy Hour at the best hockey bar in North America, R Bar Arena. Later that evening we were treated to a stellar effort by the champs as they put a beat down on the Jackets 4-0.

Trip Itinerary

The Caps Road Crew is heading back to one of our favorite barns, Nationwide Arena, to see the Caps take on the Blue Jackets on Saturday, December 8 at 7 p.m. It was a great disappointment that we couldn’t pay a visit last season and we can’t wait to return.

The CRC has made arrangements for excellent lower level group tickets all together in Section 117 for $90 each however individual transportation and lodging plans are up to those attending. No extra fees over the cost of the ticket will be charged. The Crew will meet at the arena for warmups prior to the game, and you can bet a visit to the R Bar Arena for pre- and post-game fun will be in the works.

Our triumphant return to the Coliseum!

Washington Capitals at New York Islanders
March 1, 2019 | Nassau Coliseum | Long Island, New York

This season marked the Crew’s return to a building we thought we’d never see again, the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Due to NHL ticket sales at Barclay Center being lackluster, a limited number of New York Islanders home games were played at the old barn, which underwent a major renovation. Now part of NYCB Live, the Coliseum has had new life breathed into it. This would not help the home team, who fell to the Caps 3-1.

Trip Itinerary

The Caps Road Crew will be traveling to Long Island to visit the remodeled Nassau Coliseum as the Caps take on the Islanders at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2019. The Isles are playing limited dates in their old barn and we are delighted that a Caps game is among them.

The CRC has made arrangements for a large block of upper level group e-tickets in Section 212 for $90 each however individual transportation and lodging plans are up to those attending. No extra fees over the cost of the ticket will be charged. We are assured that with the new building layout, these are good seats, especially for the price.

At this time we are accepting reservations as a ticket package to both the NYI and NYR games (see details for the NYR end of the trip). If we are able to accommodate those wishing tickets to just one or the other we will try, but cannot guarantee anything at present. The cost will be $90 per ticket for the NYI game (the NYR tickets are $190 each, for a total of $280 for a package).

The Crew will meet at Nassau Coliseum for warmups prior to the game with possible pre- and post-game plans for the group coming together closer to the game date.

Be sure to get your reservation in asap to guarantee your spot alongside the other Caps fans making the trip. For payment information, seating arrangements, or any other information about this trip, please e-mail info@capsroadcrew.com. All inquiries are responded to in the order they are received.
