Bears vs Phantoms in the AHL Outdoor Classic!

Hershey Bears at Adirondack Phantoms
January 6, 2012 | Citizens Bank Park | Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Crew had so much fun at the 2011 NHL Winter Classic that when the opportunity arose to attend an AHL outdoor game, featuring the Adirondack Phantoms hosting the Hershey Bears, we couldn’t say no. A busload of us took the short trip up I-95 to Citizens Bank Park, home of the Phillies, for some hockey action in the great outdoors!

Trip Itinerary

The Caps Road Crew will be traveling to Philadelphia, PA to take in one of the rare new events on the hockey calendar, an outdoor game! We will be hitting the road by bus to Citizens Bank Park to cheer on the Hershey Bears as they take on the Flyers’ farm team, the Adirondack Phantoms, at 7 pm.

The CRC has made arrangements for bus transportation and excellent 300-level seats behind 3rd base. We also have extra space on the bus for this trip. So if you don’t require a game ticket, are a Bears fan, and would like to join us on the bus, please email us ASAP at info@capsroadcrew.com to make arrangements.

Current plans: The Crew will be meeting at Greenbelt Metro station (inner loop of the beltway in Maryland at Exit 24) at 2:15 p.m. on January 6th; the bus will depart at approximately 2:30 p.m. We’ll arrive at Citizens Bank Park by 5:00 p.m., in plenty of time to take in the festivities before the 7:00 p.m. drop of the puck. The CRC bus will be returning to the D.C. area as soon as possible following the game (expected arrival back in Greenbelt around 12:30 a.m.). The subway will be open in time for both our departure and return and we encourage our guests to make use of it if convenient.

For the game ticket and bus transportation, the cost for the trip will be $75 per person. No extra fees or money over the cost of the bus and game tickets will be charged. For those just needing transportation, the cost is $35 per person. You may bring your own food and drink on the bus (coolers will be provided for your convenience). There is no smoking allowed on the bus and time constraints will most likely prevent us from making any stops on the way. The bus is equipped with a restroom and video/tv units.
