Livin' it up in Philly!

Washington Capitals at Philadelphia Flyers
November 23, 2007 | Wachovia Center | Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Bus Trip

Our first trip of the 07-08 season was a doozy! Hosted by the Flyers in a VIP suite, the Crew were treated to an overtime victory as birthday boy Nicklas Backstrom scored the goal that gave the Caps the 4-3 win. Just a few hours later, we sat behind the home team’s goal for a close game between the Phantoms and our very own Hershey Bears. The boys from chocolate town put up a hard effort, getting a 2-1 win and a sweep for the Crew!

Trip Itinerary

The CapsRoadCrew will be traveling to Philadelphia, PA for a hockey double-header!

We will be hitting the road by bus to the Wachovia Center to work off the Thanksgiving holiday feast by cheering on our Caps as they take on our longtime Conference rival, the Flyers, at 1 pm. This is an early season matchup for two much improved teams and should prove to be a great game. We have acquired club level seats for this game and with the Flyers treating us to an open bar and buffet, tailgating will not be necessary.

Later that evening we have excellent lower level tickets to see the Caps farm team and 2007 AHL Eastern Conference Champions, the Hershey Bears, as they face off at 7 pm against their geographic rival, the Philadelphia Phantoms. The Phantoms struggled last season but with Craig Berube back behind the bench, they should prove to be more of a challenge to Coach Boudreau and the Bears.

The CRC will make arrangements for bus transportation and group tickets. We also have a VERY limited number of extra tickets for the Flyers and/or Phantoms games. If you don’t require transportation and would like to join the group for either of these games, please email us ASAP at info@capsroadcrew.com to make arrangements.

Current plans: The Crew will be meeting at Greenbelt metro station (inner loop of the beltway in Maryland at Exit 24) at 9 a.m. on November 23rd; the bus will depart at approximately 9:30 a.m. We’ll arrive at the Wachovia Complex around 11:30 a.m., in plenty of time to head inside and catch warmups before the 1:00 p.m. drop of the puck. The CRC bus will be returning to the D.C. area immediately following the Bears/Phantoms game (expected arrival back in Greenbelt around midnight).

Our seats are excellent for both games and with bus transportation, the cost for the trip will be $225 per person. No extra fees or money over the cost of the bus and game tickets will be charged. You may bring your own food and drink on the bus (coolers will be provided for your convenience). There is no smoking allowed on the bus and time constraints will most likely prevent us from making any stops on the way. The bus is equipped with a restroom and video/tv units.

All arrangements have been made and reservations are filling up fast. Please get your reservation in ASAP to guarantee your spot on the CRC Bus! A reservation should be considered a firm commitment as it will be used to finalize the group plans and others’ reservations. We have space and tickets available for 40 people. Full payment will be due at the time of reservation but absolutely no later than October 31st.. To reserve your spot on the bus, or for more information, please e-mail info@capsroadcrew.com. (Please specify number of seats/tickets needed.)
